May 3-June 27, 2011 This in-depth beginning lighting class will kick-start your skills and help you build confidence with basic studio lighting tools and practice. You’ll get hands-on time with a variety of lighting equipment in both studio and location situations while you experiment and create new work. Master lighting and portrait artist Alan M. Thornton will show you how to finesse light and get away from a heavy-handed, traditional studio approach. You’ll learn to interact with lights and light modifiers on a more creative, intuitive level as you work hands-on to create great images. Class will cover intermediate and advanced techniques for creating beauty shots with delicate, soft light. You’ll have a chance to work with models as you develop and fine-tune your technique.
